India's constrained overs captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is probably going to play his first global match in two and half months with clearly not a single authority diversion time to be seen.
India's first ODI against England is planned on January 15 in Pune. It is relied upon to be Dhoni's first worldwide match in two and half months in the wake of having last played against New Zealand at Visakhapatnam on October 29.
While there is a convention for harmed players to play no less than one top notch amusement before being considered for national choice, the same is not appropriate for Dhoni, who has declared his retirement from longer organization.
Dhoni arranged for the restricted overs voyage through Australia in 2015 by playing the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Jharkhand.
Be that as it may, this version of Hazare Trophy will just initiate from February 25 - almost four weeks after the England ODI arrangement has finished.
While a portion of the other ODI pros are playing Ranji Trophy for their states, Dhoni is yet to benefit that choice.
With BCCI's ban on players from contending in the other private classes, it was impractical for the Indian chief to play a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) coordinate.
The Jharkhand group has met all requirements for the thump out phases of the Ranji Trophy however till date Dhoni has not given any sign that he might want to play as unadulterated batsman with Ishan Kishan keeping wickets.
"We have no data with reference to whether Dhoni will play any Ranji Trophy diversion or not. Regardless he has effectively resigned from the more drawn out organization. The data we have is that he is doing his normal preparing with the Jharkhand group," executive of senior choice board of trustees MSK Prasad told PTI today.
Indeed, even Jharkhand State Cricket Association Secretary Rajesh Verma made it clear that to the extent Ranji Trophy is concerned, Dhoni is a "tutor" of the senior state group.
"Dhoni does not play Test cricket any longer so the subject of playing top notch cricket does not emerge by any stretch of the imagination. He is a guide of the Jharkhand group. He will play for Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy," Verma said.
Dhoni was with the Jharkhand group in Delhi when they played against Maharashtra at the Karnail Singh Stadium. Dhoni, who has a house in South Delhi, went ahead all days and sat in the changing area to cheer the Varun Aaron-drove group.
He then partook in football sessions with the young men before taking off.
