Now,admissions for class 12 in Maharashtra colleges to go online.
From the approaching year, 2017-18, category 12 admissions to state-run school|s are going to be conducted on-line; very like first junior college (FYJC) online method, same the state’s Education Department. The move is aimed at creating category twelve admissions clear and edge malpractices like donations and non-merit-based admissions.
This means students aiming to switch faculties at school twelve can have to be compelled to fill out the associated form which will presently become offered on the portal Mumbai.11th admission.net.
However, faculties square measure looking ahead to the official circular before following this method.
Many students look to alter faculties within the middle of sophistication eleven or at school twelve if they require securing admission at a university of their alternative particularly if they're sad with the school assigned to them within the FYJC on-line admissions. Last year, students had to approach individual faculties and that they would be assigned a seat if there was a vacancy.
But this year, the city court prohibited offline admissions of any kind. “We have stopped offline admissions entirely at school eleven and sophistication twelve,” same B B Chavan, deputy director of education, city region. “Some faculties World Health Organization square measure unaware of the amendment in rules would possibly admit students’ offline,
However, they'll be asked to reverse the method once the net admission portal opens.”
Officials said until last year, less than 50% students continued in colleges allotted to them in the online process, especially in smaller or lesser-known colleges. “Even after conducting multiple online rounds to ensure 100% admissions through the system, we find students change colleges’ offline after Class 11, making the entire online admission process pointless," said Chavan. The department had conducted nine rounds of admission for FYJC last year.
Mumbai colleges complained they are clueless about the change in the admission process, as the department hasn’t issued an official circular yet. Sathaye College, Vile Parle, is accepting student applications but has kept the admission process on hold. “We were told about the change in admission process eight months ago, but we are waiting for government orders on how to implement it,” said Kavita Rege, principal. The college has around 35 vacant seats in science and 15 to 20 seats in commerce stream.
Vidyadhar Joshi, principal, Vaze-Kelkar College, Mulund, said online class 12 admissions will make things easier for students and colleges.
