Aren’t we all searching for something all the time?If we are in the market, whether physically or online, we are searching for things we want, If we open up a business, we are searching for right material, right people, and all right resources, if I am a student, I am Searching for right guidance and notes, If I am researcher, I am in search of old documents, discoveries, writings of some historians, etc. If I am in job, I am searching for best ways of doing the thing in hand, an if unfortunately, I am not in that seeking spirit, I quit and start searching for another job, If I am old, I am searching for support, and If I have everything materially, I am searching for peace, tranquility and comfort within my self, overall, given a moment, we are never at peace, but we are always searching. Precisely this is why Google has become one most searched engine because people are always searching and it helps them find answers.
Don’t we sometimes admire, why do we have to search and when will this search end? I am sure, these questions must be haunting you equally as it does to me.
Let’s first find an answer to why do we have to search. As per Buddhist teachings, we live in a mystic world, which is called as “MYO”. What does mystic mean, someone or something, whose origin is not known, or origination without beginning and end, it also encompasses the factor omnipresence, because we don’t know, where we will find the answer. Which means, everything and everyone, has equal potential, which our shallow wisdom and vision, stops us from realizing. sometimes the answer lies right in front of us, but we fail to see the same and go around the world to seek answers. Similar is a situation of someone looking for peace and comfort in their lives. It does not exists anywhere else. It lies within. But the catch is, that its not easy to find…We have to dig deep within ourselves, to be really able to find the true answers from within. Now since the universal principle of living in a mystic world cannot be falsified, like many other universal principle, the search continues.
As per the parable of phantom city used in Buddhists writings, it means that we are all living in a world, which was created, by the universe, as place for resting for all the beings, during their journey to the heavenly abode.
