Pakistani Cricketer Sharjeel Khan banned for 5 years for PSL spot-fixing
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have banned batsman Sharjeel Khan from all cricketing exercises for a long time over the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-settling embarrassment. A tribunal, headed by the Lahore High Court, declared the decision on Wednesday.
Sharjeel Khan, alongside Khalid Latif, were temporarily suspended on charges of spot settling by the PCB for their inclusion in the Pakistan Super League. Both were compelled to return home amid the competition in the wake of being suspended under the PCB's Anti-Corruption Code of Conduct.
Both Sharjeel and Khalid Latif rejected the charges of having spot-settled in the Pakistan Super League.
The PCB charged national group batsmen Sharjeel and Khalid Latif under its hostile to defilement code and had given them 14 days to react to the charges. The charge sheet was issued to the two players after they argued not liable and denied any part amid the competition in 2016.
Sharjeel has played 25 ODIs for Pakistan from 2013 to 2017 and oversaw 812 keeps running at a normal of 32.48. He influenced his Test to make a big appearance as of late in 2017 against Australia in Sydney.
