These Forgotten Players Were A Part Of The Winning Squad Of World Cup 2007 And 2011 By Unnati Madan - October 9, 2018

There have been many unsung and sung heroes of World Cup 2007 and 2011, some of them have even became a huge name or legendary players now, but the names of a few cricketers have completely vanished from the cricketing world.

 
 

Here, we bring you a few names who were a part of the winning squad of either World Cup 2007 or 2011, but they are now forgotten, have a look :
 
1. Munaaf Patel :
 
In the year 2011, Munaaf Patel made his space in the Indian squad for World Cup with his consistency in bowling and fitness. During the tournament, Zaheer Khan helped him a lot to improve his game and he emerged out as one of the highest wicket-taker in the tournament and helped India in winning the world cup.
 
2. Ajit Agarkar :
 
 
MS Dhoni roped in Ajit Agarkar as a fast bowler in the Indian squad for the world cup. However, he couldn't live upto the expectations of the skipper and the audience. He played only two matches, one of which was against Pakistan where he could only take one wicket. Although, he was later removed from the Indian squad but he was a part of the winning squad of Indian team in world cup.
 
3. Piyush Chawla :
 
 
Piyush Chawla was a part of 2007 as well as 2011 world cup winning squad. During the 2007 world cup, Piyush Chawla gained the position in Indian squad for next world cup with his amazing performance in the tournament.
 
 

 
 

4. Joginder Sharma :
 
 
Joginder Sharma is one name that no one heard of before T20 World Cup 2007 but after the match against Pakistan everyone knew his name. He gave a brilliant performance and helped India win the match. For the same reason he was appreciated and praised by the Indians and the ICC. After the world cup, the Haryana government honored him with the position of DCP, which he is still fulfilling.
 
5. Sreesanth :
 
 
Sreesanth was one of the heroes of World Cup 2011. He became a sensational hit after his power-packed performances. However, he was banned after he was found guilty of match-fixing in the year 2013 in the IPL tournament.
