Just like Kohli, I will run shirtless if India win 2019 World Cup: Kapil Dev

Earlier in 2018, Virat Kohli promised to take his shirt off and run on Oxford Street if India won the World Cup in England. At Agenda Aaj Tak, Kapil promised to join him.

    HIGHLIGHTS

*Kapil Dev said India have the ability to win the World Cup in England next year
*Kapil said if India won the World Cup, he would join Virat Kohli and run without his shirt
*"I will run shirtless if India win the World Cup. I can do anything for my country," Kapil said at Agenda Aaj Tak

World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev speaking at Agenda Aaj Tak 2018 in New Delhi on Tuesday promised to follow the lead of Team India captain Virat Kohli down Oxford street shirtless if India win the World Cup in England 2019.

"I will run shirtless if India win the World Cup. Just like Kohli said that he will run shirtless if India win, I will too," Kapil Dev said at Agenda Aaj Tak 2018.

"I can do anything for my country," he said.

Kohli had said in an interview to India Today he would run down Oxford Street if India won the World Cup in England in 2019.

When asked again in the presence of Sourav Ganguly, who's iconic shirt-waiving at Lord's after India won the NatWest Series final against England is etched in memory, Kohli had repeated the promise.

Kapil Dev when asked who would win the World Cup come July in England, he confessed that his heart and head have the same name.

"My heart says India can win the World Cup, my head is saying India need to play good cricket to win," Kapil said.

When Sunil Gavaskar was also asked the same question, he said India in heartbeat.

"The World Cup is coming to India," the original 'Little Master' said.

"This Indian team have all the ingredients to win the World Cup," Gavaskar added.

He also painted his dream scenario for India to win the World Cup. He said it that India would need six runs to win with MS Dhoni at the crease and it would Pakistan's Mohammed Ameer with the final ball at The Lord's.

And Dhoni would again finish it off in style...

When the pair where asked about comparisons between their (Gavaskar and Kapil's) World Cup-winning teams and that of Dhoni's in Mumbai, Gavaskar said, "The 1983 team was more handsome than the 2011 World Cup-winning team. Who has worked in films from the 2011 team?"

Gavaskar was also very hopeful of celebrating the golden jubilee celebration of that famous World Cup win in 1983.

"Fingers crossed, toes crossed that we will celebrate the golden jubilee of 1983 win," Gavaskar said.
