Pack Your Bags Because Thailand Is All Set to Introduce Visa-Free Arrival for Indian Tourists

If you're someone whose entire friend-list seems to be partying on the gorgeous beaches of Thailand, but you haven't got around to planning a trip yet, I am here to tell you that there couldn't be a better time than 2019 to make a trip to Thailand.

Thailand is all set to introduce visa-free arrival for Indians!

In a surprising move, Thailand withdrew the ฿2,000 (₹4,582) visa-on-arrival fees for Indians last year. This rule was eligible only till October 31, 2019. However, as we near the deadline, Thailand has now announced that there will be visa-free arrival for Indians, starting November 1, 2019!

Thailand Minister of Tourism and Sports Pipat Ratchakitprakarn has announced that visa-free travel will be applicable for Indians and Chinese tourists for a stay up to 14 days.

Indian tourism in Thailand

Thailand received 1.6 million tourists from India in 2018 alone and we spent a whopping Rs. 160 billion on our trips. India ranks 6th amongst all nationalities who visited Thailand and thus, thus they are opening gates to lure more Indians into their country.

In addition, Thailand Tourism is also attracting specific groups like honeymooners, first-time travellers, women travellers and families. At the same time, the latest 'Hidden Shades of Thailand' advertisement seeks to attract tourists away from mainstream destinations such as Pattaya and Phi Phi and show them the lesser-explored Thailand. Wat Phumin, Nan, Ko Tao, Surat Thani, Thale Noi, Phatthalung are destinations that are beautifully covered in the video.

Moreover, Thailand is being boosted as a "value-for-money" as well as a niche destination which is the perfect amalgamation of what an Indian tourist expects from a vacation. Travelling between the countries is becoming increasingly convenient with 307 weekly flights connecting 16 major cities to Thailand.

So what are you waiting for? Thailand is becoming more affordable and yet, promises an exquisite experience. Book your tickets and tick Thailand off your bucket list this year!
