HORRIFIC VIDEO: Elephant tramples a man to death for trying to take its photo on West Bengal highway - Watch

Kolkata: A shocking video is going viral showing an elephant killing a man who came out of his car to take a photograph of the animal on a highway in West Bengal.

The gruesome incident took place on the Lataguri-Mahakal Mandir Road of Jalpaiguri district on Thursday.

The elephant was crossing National Highway 31 when 40-year-old Sadik Rahman, a security guard at a Jalpaiguri bank, stepped out if his car to take photographs of the tusker. However, annoyed by Rahman's act, the elephant attacked him and trampled him to death.

Rahman died on the spot.

As per the records of West Bengal's forest department, incidents related to human-elephant conflict claimed 84 lives in 2016.
