Harish Salve charging just Rs 1 fee to argue Kulbhushan Jadhav case in ICJ

New Delhi: Acclaimed lawyer Harish Salve, who assumed a pivotal role in India's victory at the International Court of Justice in Kulbhushan Jadhav death sentencing case, has said that he had recently played out his obligation.

Conversing with correspondents yesterday, Salve said while he is happy that justice   has been finally done to Jadhav

Any normal Indian resident would have done likewise for his nation, he said.

"For me, this is not a business case... It was an open obligation. Any national of India would have done that... it was no awesome minute," said Salve, who was commended by all after the ICJ conveyed a decision favoring India on Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the pack in praising Salve, who had spoken to India before in worldwide discussions also.

In a discussion with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, PM Modi expressed gratitude toward Salve.

EAM Swaraj too lauded Salve for his splendid endeavors.

Ostensibly one of the highest paid lawyers in India, Salve's solid contentions on Kulbhushan Jadhav at the ICJ were generally valued by everyone.

Harish Salve, who is child of NKP Salve, a late  Congress politician, is among the expensive lawyers in India and as indicated by media reports, energizes to Rs 30 lakh for a one-day appearance in the Supreme Court of India.

Salve, a former solicitor general of India, is a contracted commerce and law graduate. He began his vocation as a chartered accountant yet, later on, moved to the legal profession. He has made his base in London.

Salve became a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court in 1992 and the solicitor general of India in 1999.
