The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-F09) conveying the GSAT-9 or the "South Asia" satellite took off at 4:57 pm on Friday.
Worked by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the rocket launched from the second platform at the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota, around 135 km from here.
The satellite, costing around Rs 235 crore, is implied for giving correspondence and debacle bolster, availability among the nations of South Asia district. Its central goal life will traverse 12 years.
