J&K : Army jawan missing with AK-47 and 3 magazines from Army camp in Baramulla; alert sounded
Srinagar: An Army jawan has missed with AK-47 and three magazines from north Kashmir's Baramulla locale on Thursday.
He has been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Thakur and is related with the 173 Territorial Army.
Thakur is a resident of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.
An alarm has been sounded as authorities expect that Thakur may have sided with the militants in the Valley.
The separatists have called seven days in length dissent to check the first death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.
Wani was slaughtered in a gunfight in Kokarnag region of Anantnag region on July 8, 2016.
The Hizbul aggressor's demise set off a late spring of discontent and months of viciousness in Kashmir that left almost a hundred people dead.
