Pakistan constructing 6 dams on Indus River in PoK with China's assistance: External Affairs Ministry
New Delhi: Pakistan is building six dams on Indus river in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) with the assistance of China, informed the External Affairs Ministry in the Parliament on Friday.
China had already 'dedicated to help Pakistan' in these tasks and is, subsequently, helping in building the dams, said the Minister of State, External Affair Minister and retired General VK Singh.
Including that Pakistan has illicitly involved certain regions in Kashmir, Singh said that the outskirt country is embraced shared exercises which are in clear 'infringement of India's sway and regional trustworthiness'.
"India has an unmistakable and steady position that these domains are illicitly possessed by Pakistan and that any collective movement there is infringing upon India's power and regional honesty," he said.
"In like manner, we have made demarches to both Pakistan and China, passing on our position. Government will keep on maintaining this position," said Singh.
The Indus waterway, the longest stream and national waterway of Pakistan, goes through starts in Western Tibet close Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, and keeps running crosswise over Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
