China blocks UN proposal to designate JeM chief Masood Azhar as 'global terrorist'
New Delhi: Despite repeated requests from India, China has at the end of the day obstructed the UN proposition to assign Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar as a 'worldwide terrorist.'
As indicated by PTI, China has stretched out by three months its specialized hang on the US, France and UK-sponsored proposition to list JeM chief Masood Azhar as an assigned terrorist by the United Nations.
Azhar is wanted by India regarding the brazen terror attack in Punjab's Pathankot a year ago.
China had in February this year hindered the US move to assign Azhar as a worldwide terrorist at UN.
The due date for China to make a move on its specialized hold was till August 2.
On the off chance that China would not have broadened the specialized hold, Azhar would have naturally been assigned under the UN as a terrorist.
PTI cited sources as saying that just before the due date slipped by, China at the end of the day looked for a three-month expansion until November 2 on its specialized hang on the proposition.

A year ago in March, China was the sole part in the 15-country UN organ to stop India's application with all other 14 individuals from the Council supporting New Delhi's offered to put Azhar on the 1267 approvals list that would subject him to a benefits stop and travel boycott.
