The
Banaras Hindu University administration has made Aadhaar mandatory for filling online forms for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the university.
The filling of forms online for entrance examination to the various undergraduate courses began on Monday. The last date for submitting the forms online is February 21.
A press communique from the BHU said mentioning Aadhaar number had been made mandatory to apply for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the university.
It said entrance tests for the undergraduate courses will be held on April 15, April 29, May 13, May 20-27 at various centres across the country. The centres include Jaipur, Bhopal, Patna, Ranchi Raipur, Vadodara, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Dimapur, Jhansi, Delhi, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Mirzapur and Varanasi.
Excluding aspirants from Jammu and Kashmir Assam and Meghalaya who don’t have Aadhaar numbers, all other Indian aspirants will have to mention their Aadhaar numbers when they fill the forms online.
The university’s public relations officer Rajesh Singh confirmed the development.
