Panasonic launches electric vehicle charging service in Delhi-NCR

The company aims to expand the offerings to Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Amaravati in the next three years, and 25 more cities in the next five years.

Japanese electronics giant Panasonic in partnership with electric mobility service providers SmartE and qQuick launched their electric vehicle (EV) charging service 'Nymbus',  in the Delhi-NCR region on May 15.

As part of the first phase, Panasonic will be deploying the service on 150 SmartE electric three-wheelers and on 25 qQuick two-wheelers in the region.

Nymbus combines physical components such as charging stations, swap stations, onboard charges, and telematics systems with virtual components like cloud service, analytics, intuitive dashboard, and artificial intelligence.

The solution is aimed at helping individual EV users, EV fleet owners, e-commerce and logistics companies to manage their fleet more efficiently. Besides these, it will also help utility providers, vehicle, equipment and battery manufacturers to understand the usage patterns and calibrate their products and services accordingly.

The service comes equipped with telematics sensors on the vehicles, allowing users to generate real-time data and reports from the continuous operation. The cloud and app service also allows EV and fleet owners to easily search and navigate the nearest charging point.

Manish Sharma, President & CEO of Panasonic India said, ''With the launch of the EV charging service, Panasonic for the first time is venturing into service domain in energy and eMobility. We are creating an integrated common platform to cater to the unsatiated needs of multiple stakeholders and enable faster adoption of EV in the country.''

Atul Arya, Head Energy Systems Division at Panasonic India said that they aim to expand the offerings to Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Amaravati in the next three years, and 25 more cities in the next five years. The service would then cater to approximately one million vehicles.

Aishwarya Kachhal, Founder, qQuick said that this partnership with Panasonic will provide customers personal, accessible, affordable, and green mobility.
