Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth's 2.0 is all set to hit the screens on November 29, 2018. The VFX heavy film is made on a budget of $75 million. The budget is higher than several Hollywood blockbusters. Check out.

 
 

Akshay Kumar's first stint into Tamil cinema has finally got its final release date. Starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, 2.0 is a sequel to 2010 blockbuster Robot. After getting postponed for more than a year, 2.0 is finally releasing on November 29 this year. While during the making of the film we were aware that the film is gonna be a VFX extravaganza. But a couple of days back, Akshay Kumar took to his official Instagram account and shared a cover of Variety with the caption, "India's first 75 million dollar VFX wonder"

While the teaser of the film is slated to release on September 13, we couldn't help but think about the budget of 2.0, which is around Rs 542 crore in INR. Both the Baahubalis together were of lesser cost than one 2.0. And why only should we stop the comparison with Indian films, 2.0's $75 million budget is higher than several popular Hollywood blockbusters as well. Let's take a look at 10 such Hollywood films in superhero, sci-fi as well horror genre, which were made in same or lesser budget than 2.0's $75 million.

One of the lowest budgeted superhero films, Deadpool costed $58 million and turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. And inflation adjusted as of 2018, the budget is still $60.90 million.
 
X-Men (2000)

The first film in the X-Men universe, X-Men was made at just $75 million. But that was in 2000 and as of 2018, the inflation-adjusted budget is $109 million, more than 2.0 but it's still interesting to note that their original budget was the same as that of 2.0.
 
Batman (1989)

The budget of one of the most loved Batman films of all time was a mere $35 million, as of 2018 which is $71 million.
 
The Terminator (1984)

The budget of this big blockbuster was a meagre $6.4 million back in 1984 and as of 2018, it is $15.5 million.
 
District 9 (2009)

This cult sci-fi was made at just $30 million and when compared to 2018, it's inflation adjusted cost is $35.24 million.

This Will Smith cult classic was made at $75 million. Though the adjusted cost of the film as of 2018 is $120.46 million

Made on $35 million budget, It turned out to be the biggest horror blockbuster of all time.

The Conjuring (2013) - $20 million
 
The Conjuring 2 (2016) - $40 million
