As reported by us earlier, Hyundai India will launch its second-gen Creta on March 17, 2020. Undoubtedly the biggest vehicle launch for the brand this year, the new India-spec Creta made its debut at the Auto Expo 2020.
A few days ago we brought you some info about the 2020 Hyundai Creta's variants, and today we've got our hands on the engine, gearbox details, and fuel efficiency figures. Just like the Kia Seltos, the new Hyundai Creta for India will be available with three engine options. First up, a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine will be entry-level powerplant. This engine is good for 115hp and 144Nm of torque, and, according to our source, will do 16.8kpl when equipped with a manual gearbox. The second petrol engine option on the Creta will be the 1.4-litre turbocharged unit, but it'll be offered with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and won't get a manual option like on the Seltos. The Hyundai Creta 1.4 DCT automatic too will be capable of 16.8kpl on one litre of fuel. The third option on the Creta will be the 1.5-litre diesel engine, expected to be sold with a 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic. We can confirm that this engine, when coupled with a manual gearbox, will deliver 21.4kpl.
To give you a better idea, we've compared the fuel efficiency figures of the new Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta will be available in five variants and five engine-gearbox options.
